Viola Burton-Wilson, 68, departed this life June 23, 2019, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
A service celebrating her life will be held Friday, July 5, at Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor. The visitation begins at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at noon. Those wishing to sign the guest book online may do so at www.robbinsbrothersfh.com.
Viola was born Nov. 19, 1950, in Benton Harbor, to Henry and Luida Bryant Burton. She was known as a loving person who enjoyed reading, spending time with children and cooking.
Viola leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Albert Burton of Benton Harbor; sisters, Gertrude Singleton of Benton Harbor, Earnestine Rucker of Texas and Lillie Burton of Detroit; brothers, Elijah (Brenda) Burton of Indianapolis, Albert (Geraldine) Burton of Eau Claire, Henry of Dowagiac and Adele (Fran) Burton of Tampa; grandchildren: Sharonda Williams, Albert Jr., Dearris, Jah’Mya and Tah’Mya Burton; and great-grandchildren, Destiny Holmes, Ja’Ba’Byrion Broyles and Shuntae Broyles.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; son, Errick Burton; sister, Julia Stevens; and brother, Woodrow Taylor.
