A nonresident South Haven short-term rental (STR) owner/operator recently spoke at a city council meeting stating that our town "had been built on the back of tourism." She had questioned a trades person doing work at one of her rentals, asking how much of his business comes from STRs vs. resident homeowners. The worker stated 80% of his business is from STRs.
