Just the other day, I was checking my mail and noticed that I got a printed advertisement from both candidates who are running against each other for office. I’ve already made up my mind who I’m going to vote for in that particular race, so I wasn’t swayed one way or another by what was on the ads. Yet they got me to thinking about the whole election process that we regularly go through in our country.

I was a political science major in college, and I chose that major because it was a topic that interested me and that I was good at in high school. What’s ironic is that learning more about politics has actually turned me away from the whole process. I still vote and still try to pay some attention to what’s going on in the world, but my interest has decreased dramatically over the years as I learn more about what it takes to be successful in politics.
