Benton Harbor has won five straight boys basketball district championships and has rarely been challenged during that stretch, but the Tigers could have some competition this year.

Benton Harbor (15-7) is still the favorite for next week's Division 2 district at Niles, but enters the tournament having lost five of its last seven. The Tigers played close games with several ranked powers in that stretch, but also suffered a 78-65 upset loss to potential district opponent Berrien Springs (13-9). Benton Harbor won their first meeting 74-35.
