STEVENSVILLE — Members of Lakeshore’s first-ever softball team never envisioned what the school’s sport would become.

The Lancers’ 1973 squad was honored between games at Saturday’s home round-robin, celebrating the 50 years of Title IX – educational amendments of 1972 by the U.S. Congress that prohibited sex discrimination in any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.
