Butterfly program: 2 p.m. today. Join Ron Dudek and his amazing butterfly videos and clips for an in-depth look at the fantastic lives of butterflies. Then visit the butterfly house to see the real thing. Cost is $7, $3 for children; $3 for members, $2 for members’ children.

Fernwood Botanical Garden

Fernwood’s bluebirds: 2 p.m. July 7. Learn about bluebird history and how you can attract them to your garden, then walk part of Fernwood’s bluebird trail to check on nest activity. Cost is $12, $10 for members. Children 10 and under free.

Pollinators: 1 p.m. July 14 With the decline of the honeybee, recognition of the importance of pollination and seed production is on the forefront of public awareness. Learn about sustainable gardening, what practices foster a variety of pollinators, and how to attract them in your garden by providing a suitable nesting habitat. Cost is $12, $10 for members. Register by July 12.

Birding without borders: 3-5 p.m. July 13. Birder Noah Strycker will give a presentation about his travels to see more than half the world’s bird species in a single year. Cost is $24, $20 for members.

Saturday class features an attorney or police officer to speak and answer questions, an NRA course, personal protection in the home, and three hours of range time with one-on-one supervision.
