Former Coloma basketball standout Zach Goodline has transferred to Huntington University.
Goodline, the reigning Herald-Palladium Senior Male Athlete of the Year, originally was going to play men’s basketball at Huntington but instead walked-on at Division I Oakland University.
He is the first recruit for new Forresters coach Kory Alford.
“We are extremely excited about Zach joining the Forester family,” Alford said in a news release. “He is a perfect fit for our University and the basketball program.
“Zach is a fierce competitor and understands how to play. We look forward to him playing a big role in the future of Huntington basketball.”
Goodline appeared in 11 games for the Golden Grizzlies, averaging 0.7 points per game. He played 25 minutes in a Jan. 9 game at Youngstown State, followed by a 19-minute showing Jan. 11 at Cleveland State.
A starter in the game, he was 6-for-6 at the free throw line.
“I am excited for my next three years at HU and I’m looking forward to building something special here with Coach Alford,” Goodline said in a news release.
