SH tabs Hagerty as boys hoops coach

South Haven High School has named Ryne Hagerty as its new boys basketball coach.

Hagerty, a Wisconsin native, currently works as a physical education teacher in South Haven schools. Before being hired in South Haven, he taught and coached basketball in Arizona and Wisconsin.

Hagerty resides in South Haven with his wife Dia, also a teacher for South Haven, and their three children. He replaces Larry Ash, who resigned after the 2019-20 basketball season.

Lakeshore Jr. Golf Assoc. final set

The second day of the Lakeshore Junior Golf Association championship will be Monday at HawksHead Links near South Haven.

Half of its players this summer (39 of 78) qualified for the two-day championship. The first round was Tuesday at Lake Michigan Hills.

Tee times begin at 7 a.m. with the Junior Division, followed by the Collegiate Division, Boys 16-18, Boys 13-1, Girls 13-15 and Girls 16-18.

Top Gun QB Training camp set

The Top Gun Quarterback Training camp will be held Aug. 3-5 at the Rocket football facility at the Kohn Sports Complex south of Lakeshore High School.

Camp is limited to eight high school and 10 youth quarterbacks. The small camp size will help with social distancing, sanitation standards and disinfecting footballs.
