ST. JOSEPH - The St. Joseph competitive cheer team started its season off on the right foot with a victory in the first of three "Cheer by the Pier" events this season.
The host Bears won the six-team event with an overall score of 629.92. Otsego finished second with a score of 627.98. Lake Michigan Catholic, Niles, Lawton and Chippewa Hills also competed.
