St. Joseph’s Andrew Barlow escapes an Okemos defender during the first half of Friday night’s game in St. Joseph.

St. Joseph is off to a great start to the high school football season, but the Bears have a tough stretch of schedule ahead.

St. Joseph (5-0) is ranked No. 6 in Division 3 and sits alone atop the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference with a 4-0 league record. The Bears’ final four regular-season opponents include three SMAC teams with one conference loss each, and a non-league game with Division 4 No. 1 Chelsea.
